Riverstone Studios - Handmade Soaps, Pottery and More

Riverstone Studios is excited to announce the opening of our on-line gift shop! If you've been following my blog the last few months, you may recall my November 2010 post called "An old favorite...revisited" . I asked you if you could guess what project I was working on based on a photograph? I gave a few clues:

Hint 1: It was about 20 years ago when I first tried making this and it was a success.

Hint 2: My Grandmother made it and used it all the time.

The answer: HOMEMADE SOAPS! And yes, it was at least 20 years ago when I made my first batch of soap. I remember that I was so nervous about mixing the lye and water that I made the entire batch of soap on the cement pad in my pack yard!

Ever since that first batch of soap I have dreamed of making soaps for my family and friends. With the anticipation of opening an on-line gift shop there seemed no better time than now to get back into the swing of things! We anticipate that in the next few months we will have many more fantastic bath and body soaps and laundry soap for sale as well as pottery and more!

We use as many natural and organic ingredients in our soaps as possible to provide a healthy, gentle soap for everyone in your household. We feel we have a responsability in caring for our environment and our bodies and so we've carefully chosen to include sustainable and renewable ingredients without adding chemicals, fregrances or petrolium products. You can find out more about our products by visiting Riverstone Studios Gift Shop and selecting any of our Bath and Body Soaps. Be sure to check out our Soap Packages as well (you can save on shipping)!

I will be featuring each of our items on my blog and keeping you up-to-date with the happenings of Riverstone Studios and our little homestead. We are ramping up for an exciting year in anticipation of good things! Stay tuned!

It's been so long since I've posted that I forgot...

outside: -4 deg C, with just enough wind to keep things runn'n
inside:22.9 deg C, with warm coals heating and sleepy heads after a day of quincy building
